Who is Judy Young?

I am a third-generation New Mexican, born in Gallup. I will fight for you; I will defend your Constitutional rights and call out corruption wherever I see it.

YOU, the people of District 5, are my only special interest group!

As County Commissioner I will:

Work with all levels of law enforcement to crush crime.

Prioritize neighborhood integrity and safety by implementing the “Homeless Campus Solution.”

Support businesses and grow a strong local economy by offering grant incentive packages to small businesses

Cutting red tape and regulations for small businesses

Ensuring fairness of contract awards

Support election integrity with common sense oversight.

Protect property owners from exorbitant property tax hikes.

Protect county rural communities from the “30/30” land grab.

Education:

Bachelor of Arts in Education from West Texas A&M, Canyon, TX

MA in Community Program Development from Columbia University, New York, NY

Graduated from the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Citizens Academy

Accomplishments:

Wrote the $92 million grant that funded the UNM Comprehensive Cancer Center.

Initiated the nation’s first publicly funded domestic violence program with Phil Chacon, Assistant to the Chief of Police. Every state in the U.S. subsequently adopted this initiative.

Represented and promoted thousands of businesses in the first Home and Sports shows at the Albuquerque Convention Center.

Developed the first prison rehabilitation reform program in Texas.

Worked with New Mexico House Representative Jason Harper.

Presented the “Homeless Campus Model” to the Albuquerque Homeless Task Force.

Member of Neighborhood Association Board, East Gateway Coalition Board, Foothills Community Policing Council Board.
